TACSR
Thermal Resistant Aluminum Alloy Conductor Steel Reinforced
Aluminum alloy conductors with high thermal resistance and reinforced with AW steel core
TACSR
Structure
They are woven in one or more layers around a steel core in the center with a round cross-sectional surface.
The texture direction of the outermost layer is right-round and the layers below have the opposite texture direction. designed aluminum and steel wires.
These conductors are mainly designed as 6/1, 7/1, 12/7, 36/1, 24/7, 26/7, 30/7, 30/19, 54/7, 19/54.
TACSR conductors are structurally very similar to ACSR conductors used in distribution and transmission lines, except that pure 1350 aluminum wires (EC grade) have been replaced with heat-resistant aluminum wires containing zirconium (commonly known as TAL).
TACSR conductors can be used continuously up to temperatures above 150°C. He concluded that this provides more current passing capability at higher working temperatures and is considered among the alloys with high temperature tolerance.
The high thermal tolerance of aluminum zirconium alloys has made the wires used in this conductor, in addition to maintaining the required mechanical characteristics, provide the possibility of passing a higher current and suggests the use of these conductors as an economic option to replace the conductors used in lines.
High-capacity TACSR conductors increase the current carrying capacity by about two times and are the best option to replace the old conductors used in distribution and transmission lines without the need to build new lines.
TACSR conductors or high-capacity zirconium conductors are produced in Alumtek in two grades AT1 and AT3, which have characteristics according to the table.
Application
Zirconium-containing high-capacity conductors are used to increase the capacity of transmission lines, especially in the replacement method.
By using AT2 grade zirconium wires and reaching a mechanical strength of 241 MPa for a single strand of aluminum wire and using it in the production of HTACSR-type conductors, it is possible to make a high-capacity conductor with very high strength achieved, and for this reason, these conductors are one of the main options for Long Span lines, especially where the goal is to increase the simultaneous capacity of the line.
Features
High current carrying capacity
Stability at high temperatures
Good mechanical properties
