Structure
Aluminum conductors reinforced with steel are a combination of 1350-H19 aluminum wires that are woven in one or more layers around a steel core in the center with a round cross-section. The texture direction of the outermost layer is clockwise and the bottom layers have the opposite texture direction.

The steel core is made of high-carbon and high-strength steel wires, and galvanized coating is used to protect against corrosion. A steel core can contain one or more strands (7, 19, 37 strands).

Galvanized coating is classified into different classes A, B, C according to the thickness of the coating, so that the lowest thickness corresponds to class A and the highest thickness corresponds to class C, increasing the thickness of the galvanized coating leads to an increase in the corrosion resistance of the wires. The greater the coating thickness, the lower the mechanical strength, so class A has the highest mechanical strength and class C has the lowest strength. Therefore, if it is necessary to use ACSR conductors in highly corrosive environments, Class B or C galvanized wires or steel with aluminum coating are used.
