ACSR/AW

All-aluminum alloy conductors include wires of aluminum alloy 6201 or 6101 that are twisted in one or more layers around a central wire or core with a round cross-section.

Alumtek

These conductors have good mechanical properties and are known as conductors with high strength.

The number of strands in each layer is 6 more than the previous layer, and the direction of the layers is in the opposite direction compared to the layer below.

These conductors are produced in the number of 91,61,37,19,7 strands and in one or more layers.

Application

AAAC conductors are widely used in distribution and transmission overhead lines in areas close to the sea or in areas where there is a possibility of corrosion problems for the steel core in ACSR conductors.

Also, these conductors are a suitable alternative for these conductors in transmission and distribution lines by having a greater strength-to-weight ratio and conductivity to weight than ACSR conductors.

This product is used in distribution lines as a neutral wire and common holder of self-supporting or ABC cables.

Features

  • Less energy loss than ACSR conductors with an aluminum layer (used in distribution and super distribution lines)
  • Increasing current intensity up to 10% in the same conditions compared to equivalent ACSR conductors
  • Simpler fittings and ease of installation and wiring than usual conductors with a steel core
  • excellent corrosion resistance in active environments for galvanic corrosion
  • excellent wear resistance compared to 1350 aluminum wires used in AAC and ACSR conductors
  • tensile strength equivalent or higher than steel core aluminum conductors
  • 15 Up to 25% less weight
  • Equivalent or better electrical conductivity
  • Less radio wave interference due to better surface quality
  • More fatigue resistance by 80%
  • Better creep resistance (less creep)

Reference standards

AAAC conductors are produced and supplied in accordance with the requirements of international standards BS EN 50182, ASTM B399, NFC 34-125 and DIN 48201.
