Structure

ACSR-AW

Aluminum conductors reinforced with aluminum-coated steel is a combination of pure aluminum wires 1350-H19 that are twisted in one or more layers around an aluminum-coated steel core (AW) in the center with a round cross-section.

The direction of the outermost layer is clockwise and the lower layers are in the opposite direction to their upper layer.

Steel core with aluminum coating (AW) can include one or more strands (7,19,37 strands) to increase the corrosion resistance on the wire
Steel cores are given a thin layer of aluminum coating (approximately 10% of the nominal radius of the wire) around it.

ACSR/AW

In ACSR conductors, it is possible to design a wide variety of layers and aluminum and steel wires.

These conductors are mainly designed as 6/1, 7/1, 12/7, 36/1, 24/7, 26/7, 30/7, 30/19, 54/7, 54/19.

Application

Aluminum conductors reinforced with aluminum coated steel (ACSR/AW) are used in distribution and transmission lines and in areas where corrosion resistance and high temperature are needed.
These conductors are often used in areas where there is air pollution and along the coast or industrial areas.

Features

ACSR/AW conductors are usually known as conductors with the following characteristics:

reliability,

proper strength-to-weight ratio,

economy,

excellent corrosion resistance,

conductivity ratio Electric with suitable weight, suitable life span and easy installation method.

Reference standards

ACSR/AW conductors are produced in accordance with the requirements of international standards ASTM B549, ASTM B502, ASTM B230, BS-EN 50182.
