Aluminum alloy conductors reinforced with steel, or AACSR conductors, are a combination of aluminum alloy wires that are twisted in one or more layers around a central steel core, with a round or non-round cross section.

These conductors can use all kinds of steel cores that are used in the production of ACSR conductors, such as galvanized steel, cold aluminum, metal mesh, etc.

Steel cores usually include one or more strands of steel wire, which can be produced in one or more layers as structures of 7, 19 and 37 strands.

These conductors are mainly designed and produced as 6/1, 7/1, 12/7, 36/1, 24/7, 26/7, 30/7, 30/19, 54/7 and 54/19 steel aluminum structures.

Application

Aluminum alloy conductors reinforced with steel (AACSR) are used in distribution and transmission lines and in areas where the long distance of the spans cannot be changed, in order to keep the Sag or wire belly to a minimum.
